1. |
Create
a new 150x50 pixel image. Let the background be white temporarily.
|
2.
|
Select
the Rectangular Marquee Tool. Draw a rectangular
marquee on your new image. Then fill the selected area with
your favorite color. I choose the color blue. Your current
image should look like this one below. |
|
|
3. |
Keep
the colored area selected. Now choose Select >
Modify > Smooth |
|
|
4.
|
A
smooth selection screen will pop-up. Choose a sample radius.
Choose your radius according to your button size and heights.
For this tutorial, I choose 10 pixels. Click the OK button
when you are ready. Now, you should see a transformation
in your image. The selection button has turn ellipitical.
Your image should somewhat look like this one below with
smooth round edge. |
|
|
5. |
Now
click CTRL+C (or Edit > Copy) |
6.
|
Now,
paste your current selection in a new image. You can either
click CTRL+N or you can select FILE > New.
Specify the size and dimension for your new image. |
7.
|
Now,
paste your image into your new image. For shortcut, click
CTRL+V or you can also select Edit > Paste.
|
8.
|
Now
you have a round-edged button. However, you feel that the
button looks very simple and boring. Let's add some spicy
effects to your buttons then. |
9.
|
A
simple and nice effect would be to bevel and emboss your
button. The easiest way to do that is to click Layer
> Effects > Bevel and Emboss. |
10.
|
A
new screen will pop-up. Select your modification there.
When you are ready, click the OK button. Voila! Your new
shiny button is done. Here is my end result. Your end result
should look somewhat like this one below. |
|
|
