Review
: Brinkster is definitely one
of my favorite pick. Brinkster provides a nice 30MB of webspace
for users and there is no advertisements (no pop-ups and no banners)
on your website. Their no-banner policy is very appealing to users.
I have personally tried Brinkster and I think that their service
is terrific. You can host your ASP script there and Brinkster
also offer pre-installed ASP script in their code bank. In addition,
Brinkster also support Access Database and Flash/Shockwave animation.
Their tech support is brilliant too.
However, Brinkster is targeted for more advanced user only. It
is not user-friendly to beginners who do not have a strong knowledge
of HTML. There is no Pagebuilder or step-by-step guide to create
your page. However, if you are a web savvy, and you love to use
Database in your website, Brinkster is the perfect place for you.
In fact, MoonFantasy.Com Version 3.0 is hosted at Brinkster for
a period of 6 months. So, now you might be wondering, if Brinkster
was so terrific, why did I move my website to another server?
Unfortunately, Brinkster put a bandwidth cap on user's website.
Each site is given a daily limit of 16MB of bandwidth and data
transfer. After a website has reached its bandwidth limit, visitors
will not be able to view your website. If your website is a bandwidth
hogger (ex : image galllery, free websites, multimedia files),
and you have over 100 visitors daily, you might experience this
downtime a lot. MoonFantasy.Com was often down due to this fact.
This is also the main reason why I moved my website to another
server. However, if you only have a small website and your site
does not have much traffic, Brinkster is a great web host.
