Review
: Bravenet is famous for its
award-winning free webmaster tools such as guestbook, counters,
forms, and many other fabulous tools. Now, they have decided to
join in the trend by offering free web hosting services as well.
They also offered a pro web hosting plan (with more great stuff)
with hope that you would upgrade someday. Bravenet Free Webspace
plan includes 20MB of space and a reliable FTP that you can use
to upload your files. Of course, Bravenet insert their ad banners
on your website. However, you can choose to eliminate those advertising
banners for just $5.95 a month, and you get more webspace and
data transfer too.
I have tried out their free webhosting service and it is excellent.
Unfortunately, the banners are quite prominent and there is a
500MB limit of data transfer per month. So, if your website is
a bandwidth hogger (ex : image galleries, a lot of movie files,
free webgraphic site), you can expect your website to be down
by the second week of the month. However, aside from this, Bravenet
is a good webhost, but there are better hosts out there for both
beginners and advanced users.
